The proper language of Pau and Bearn is called Bearnés o Biarnés in the dialect, béarnais in French, and Bearnese in English, a variety of Gascon which coumpound a part of the occitan linguistic aerea.

La langue propre de Pau et du Béarn s'appelle le Béarnais, Bearnés o Biarnés en langue locale, c'est une variété de Gason, faisant lui même partie de l'ensemble occitan.
